Unclaimed Electronics Help Provide "New Hope For Kids"

In addition to smartphones, tablets, and cameras, we receive many iPods and handheld games from our lost and found partners across the country. While it is sad that these devices were probably lost by a young child, perhaps even one of little means, you will be pleased to learn that many of these devices are being made available to other young children, who are dealing with tragedies of their own.

One such organization that helps us get devices to deserving young ones is New Hope For Kids, in Maitland Florida. New Hope for Kids’ mission is to support children and families who are grieving the death of a loved one, and to grant wishes to children, living in Central Florida, who aredealing with life-threatening illnesses. New Hope for Kids achieves this through two programs: the Center for Grieving Children helps children and families cope with the feelings of grief and loss after the death of a loved one, and Wishes for Kids grants wishes to children up to the age 19, diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

Each year, New Hope for Kids puts on a 3 day camp, called New Hope Kids Kamp. The camp is held at the Christmas Airstream Park, in Christmas, Florida. This special event is free for New Hope for Kids families. Over the three days of the event, New Hope For Kids provides crafts, swimming, hiking, games, breakfast & lunch to 50 kids. Each kid gets a hot breakfast, lunch, NHFK Kamp t-shirt, beach towel and a goodie bag. Finally, on the last day of the camp, NHFK throws a huge Family BBQ. Check out some of the photos below, taken at this year’s event.

We are proud to help support such a fine organization, and we want to thank all of our lost and found partners for trusting us to properly dispose of their unclaimed electronic devices.
